Winder specialises in the design, test, build, deployment and management of power systems from distribution transformers and switchgear for offices and factories to large scale transformer installations for major blue chip companies. In addition the Company provides installation, commissioning and after sales support services.
YHEF backed the management team and invested £250,000 in the receivership buy out in June 2005. The MBO preserved 40 jobs in the local community which would have otherwise been lost.
More recently in October 2007 the YHEF have invested a further £250,000. Since the original investment Winder Power has seen significant growth and the latest investment is in support of a refinance of the business to relocate to new premises. Additional capacity is required by the business due to the expansion of the company and the strong demand from customers.
