Harlands is one of the UK market leaders in the manufacture of high quality self adhesive labels for the personal care and cosmetics, beverages and pharmaceuticals markets, serving the likes of The Body Shop, Avon and Marks & Spencer. Established in 1832 as a family business, it has a well known and highly respected brand name.

The Yorkshire & Humber Equity Fund invested £250,000 in September 2003 as part of the £4 million management buy-out of the business. In May 2005 the company was sold to the Clondalkin Group, an Irish based international printing and packaging group for £8.5 million.

Ian Wright, the managing director of Harlands of Hull Ltd, said: “YFM Group helped us through two very difficult negotiations in the acquisition and sale processes and proved to be a very supportive institutional investor. We literally couldn’t have done it without them.
